Yellowstone River Oil Spill

Date:Feb 28, 2013

The Yellowstone River Oil Spill happened in 2011 when an Exxon Mobil pipeline that runs under the Yellowstone river in Montana ruptured, leaking hundreds barrels of oil for about half an hour before it was shut down and the spilled oil caused a 25-mile (40km) plume that has fouled the riverbank. Cleanup crews deployed booms and absorbent material as the plume moved downstream.
